This well known lamp designed by Verner Panton is from the FUN series. This lamp is the large one of the 2 similar shapes, the FUN 14. Lamp is made of numerous small discs of shell, suspended from each other in a chain like manner. The electrical light bulb is invisibly integrated in the frame of rings and was placed in the middle so the effect of light gives very warm diffused light. The effects of heat and draughts of air intentionally produce jangling noises. This lamp was bough ca 1969 and has a very nice color patine on the shells. Would be a centerpiece of attention and brings a warm environment in any interior.
